The longtime UFC Heavyweight and one half of The Fighter and The Kid Podcast Brendan “Big Brown” Schaub teamed up with friend Joe Rogan on The Joe Rogan Experience Friday night. During the second half of the podcast Schaub who has been open with his dislike towards the Reebok deal with the UFC announced he is taking a sabbatical from fighting to focus on his growing entertainment career.
“Do I want one more?” Schaub said. “(Expletive) yes, man. But it just doesn’t make sense. I can’t see myself, when it comes down to this, I can’t see myself in a (Expletive) Reebok kit walking out to that Octagon. I can’t see myself being like, ‘You know what? Cool, man. Yeah, that’s what I’m worth. I’m worth 10-grand to you guys. I’m gonna do this.’ And I have other opportunities.”
Schaub who hasn’t fought since his December 6th loss to Travis Browne has stated previously he would like to fight again but not with the Reebok deal. It sucks to see a longtime fighter having to leave the sport because of things like this but we all know Schaub will land on his feet.
