Today the UFC called four fighters and gave them their walking papers. Most notably Ultimate Fighter 19 winner Eddie “Truck” Gordon who is coming off of three straight losses after winning his UFC debut at the TUF 19 finale.
Eddie announced his release to day on his twitter (@TruckMMA_UFC)Eddie recently announced his move down to 170lb a weight class where he believed he should’ve always been competing in.Three other fighters where released and they announced it using their social media accounts.
TUF 19 Light-Heavyweight finalist Matt Van Buren (0-2 UFC) announced his release on his twitter (@GutterMMA). Van Buren is coming off two straight TKO losses including the TUF finale against Corey Anderson.
Middleweight prospect Roger Narvaez (1-2 UFC) announced his release on his twitter (@Silverback316). Narvaez is coming off a March loss to highly touted Canadian Elias Theodorou in which Narvaez suffered a broken arm early in the contest.
Lightweight prospect Chistos Giagos (1-2 UFC) announced his release on his Instagram (@cgiagos). Giagos is coming off a June loss to Chris Wade after winning his second fight in the UFC after dropping his UFC debut.
Giagos post states that the UFC is overbooked and according to Swedish MMA site MMAnytt.se “The organization will do away with 50 fighters over the weekend. The organization currently has around 560 fighters under contract. Which fighters who lose their contracts is currently unclear, but they are expected to get their statements on Monday and Tuesday next week.”

Longtime UFC Featherweight/Bantamweight Marcus “Bama Beast” Brimage (4-4 UFC) has announced on his twitter (@Brim205) that he received his pink slip today. Marcus went 3-0 after stepping out of the TUF 14 house until facing then newcomer Conor McGregor. Marcus has since lost three of his last four.
