Ariel Helwani reported on UFC Tonight that Nick Diaz’s reduced suspension is imminent. His suspension may be reduced to 18 months (instead of five years) and a hundred thousand dollars (instead of a hundred and sixty thousand), which means Diaz could be back as soon as this Summer.
Helwani also noted that he believes the suspension is not reduced enough, saying, “I don’t think he should be penalized at all.”
Either way, it seems like the social media pressure (and alleged death threats) got to the commission and helped them change their mind.
