History has been made once again.
After a memorable UFC 193 card came to a close, the UFC announced that the attendance of 56,214 fans who filled up the Ethiad Stadium in Melbourne, Australia set a new UFC record for a single event attendance. The new record surpassed the previous set at UFC 129 which held 55,724. That event was held on April 29, 2011 in Toronto, Canada a the Rogers Centre. The event fetured a double-header with Jose Aldo defending his featherweight title for the first time against Mark Hominick, and Georges St. Pierre defending his welterweight championship against Jake Shields.
Toronto however still holds the record for the highest gate at a single event at $11 million USD, while UFC 193 only recorded around $6.8 million USD.
