The newly announced Rizen Fighting Federation announced Monday the construction of a heavyweight tournament set to take place across the year-end events in December. A bracket and reserve bout were formalized as the 8-man tournament will take place at the Saitama Super Arena. The match-ups announced featured will be Satoshi Ishii (14-4-1) vs. Jiri Prochazka (2-0), Teodoras Aukstolos (4-2) vs. Bruno Cappelozza (1-1), Goran Reljic (14-5) vs. Vadim Nemkov (3-0), and Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal (16-4) against a yet-to-be-named opponent.
“King Mo” was originally scheduled to face Mark Godbeer, who unfortunately suffered an injury and was forced out of the tournament. RFF officials have confirmed that King Mo’s opponent in the tournament will be fighting a heavyweight from the British promotion BAMMA’s roster.
The tournament will be backed by a reserve bout between Valentin Moldavasky and Yuta Uchida. The tournament will begin Dec. 29th and finalize on Dec. 31st. Other bouts across the 3-day year-end spectacle will be Kazushi Sakuraba taking on ONE Championship Lightweight title holder Shinya Aoki. Kron Gracie will also be competiting against Erson Yamamoto.
