Terrible day in MMA as multiple sources confirmed that UFC Lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos has been forced out of his UFC 196 Lightweight championship main event slot against Conor McGregor due to a foot injury. The UFC is actively looking for a replacement on short notice with UFC workhorse Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone already being the first one to step up.
Another obvious choice in Frankie “The Answer” Edgar has been axed as the top contender at Featherweight is dealing with his own injuries that are thus far keeping him from taking the short notice matchup. Holly Holm vs. Miesha Tate still remains on the card and will likely get placed as the main event should Conor’s replacement deter him from fighting with a title on the line.
