One very familiar name was included when the World Series of Fighting announced a few new signings to the roster on Tuesday.
UFC veteran John “Doomsday” Howard (23-12) who has competed inside the Octagon a total of 14 bouts and now after 7-7 record will join the WSOF roster. Other fighters also signed with the promotion include Abu Azaitar (11-1) and Bryce Mitchell (5-0).
Howard is coming off a knockout loss in his last bout with the UFC against Tim Means that was also his second stint with the promotion. Howard went 3-4 the second time around competing in both the Welterweight and Middleweight division with wins over Cathal Pendred, Siyar Burhadurzada, and TUF winner Uriah “Primetime” Hall.
Abu “Gladiator” Azaitar is a German born Middleweight who has competed in numerous well-known promotions such as Cage Warriors, and the Polish-based KSW. Out of his 11 wins, Azaitar holds seven knockouts and one submission and is the No. 1 ranked Middleweight in Germany.
Bryce Mitchell, who fights out of Arkansas, competed at WSOF 27: Firmino vs. Fodor on a one-fight contract after taking a bout against fellow Featherweight prospect Jorge Medina on two weeks short notice and joins the promotion with a newly signed deal. Mitchell across both him amateur and pro career has competed two featured promotions Legacy Fighting Championships, and the Resurrection Fighting Alliance.
