Invicta Bantamweight champ Tonya Evinger to defend her title at Invicta FC 17 in Costa Mesa, CA

Invicta FC Bantamweight champion Tonya Evinger knew who, know she knows when and where.

Announced by Invicta officals Thursday, The 135 lbs Invicta queen will look to defend her Bantamweight title (officially) for the first time when she faces Collen Schneider at Invicta FC 17 which will take place May 7 at the OC Fair and Event Center in Costa Mesa, California.

Undefeated since 2011, Evinger (16-6, 4-0 in Invicta) has amassed an eight-fight winning streak that includes victories over the likes of Sara D’Alelio, Ediane Gomes and Irene Aldana to win the Bantamweight championship. Most recently, Evinger defeated Pannie Kiazad in a fight that should have been a featured title defense for Evinger. But due to Kiazad missing weight, the bout was reverted to a three round non-title fight that saw Evinger win via TKO in the second round. Evinger has finished five of her last eight wins.

Collen “Thoroughbred” Schneider (10-6, 1-1 in Invicta) has won nine out of her last 11 that includes wins over Diana Reyes, Brenda Gonzales, and most recently Raquel Pa’aluhi to earn her shot at the championship.
