Jon Fitch has finally claimed gold for the first time in his career.
In a career that has seen the veteran Welterweight take on the likes of Demian Maia, Johny Hendricks, Thiago Alves, Georges St. Pierre and many other greats of the sport, Fitch has finally earned himself gold, and finds it under the World Series of Fighting.
At WSOF 30, Fitch took on Joao Zefferino. The former Lightweight standout put up a valiant effort defensively in taking on the former UFC championship contender, but despite finding minimal success on the feet early, could not fend off the takedowns, scrambles and overall grappling of Fitch.
Fitch now becomes the third ever WSOF Welterweight champion. And with this win, records the 29th victory of his career as well as going 4-2 under the WSOF banner.
