Livia Renata Souza vs. Angela Hill Strawweight title fight added to Invicta FC 17

Expect two champions to compete on May 7th as reigning Invicta FC Strawweight champion Livia Renata Souza will defend her title against Ultimate Fighter veteran Angela “Overkill” Hill.

Souza (9-0, 2-0 in Invicta) most recently defended her Strawweight title this past January for the first time against DeAnna Bennet, earning a TKO finish by way of body kick. It was the first knockout finish of her career, as all of her other victories have come by way of submission. Souza won the championship against Katja Kankaanpää last April at Invicta FC 12. Souza most recently had been campaigning for a shot on the UFC 198 in Brazil and is still adamant that she will someday compete inside the Octagon.

No stranger to the bright lights of the Octagon herself, Hill (4-2, 2-0 in Invicta) has started this year off in the fast lane. Already registering two wins in 2016, one against Alida Gray in January, and most recently against Stephanie Eggink last month in March, Hill will be fighting in one of the biggest fights of her young but bright career. Hill competed on the 2oth season of the Ultimate Fighter, losing in the first round to eventual tournament winner and the first ever UFC Strawweight champion Carla Esparza. Hill has finished all but one of her fights by way of knockout.

Invicta FC 17 takes place at Costa Mesa’s The Hangar at OC Fair & Event Center and will be headlined by Tonya Evinger vs. Colleen Schneider for the Invicta Bantamweight championship, The promotion is expected to announce three additional bouts later this week.
