UFC 198 took a major hit today as former UFC Middleweight champion Anderson Silva unfortunately has pulled out of his bout with Uriah Hall due to severe abdominal pain. Dana White confirmed the news with Yahoo Sports Tuesday.
Even more serious following this bit of news being that Silva may require gall bladder surgery after checking with the UFC’s medical consultant Jeff Davidson.
“Anderson developed abdominal discomfort [Monday and] further evaluation today is consistent with acute cholecystitis,” Davidson said Tuesday. “He will be seen by a surgeon today for possible surgery.”
At this moment, a late notice replacement is currently being sought out to keep Hall on the card. No announcement has yet been made. More on this story as it unfolds.
