UFC May Get Sold To A Chinese Company

A report from ESPN states that Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), the largest MMA promotion company in the world may find new owners. The company Zuffa will possibly sale the company to the highest bidder within the year or next. Which means that Zuffa founders Dana White and the Fertitta brothers, Frank and Lorenzo, will no longer run the organization.

So far, the reports have not been confirmed by the company. “As a private company, we don’t discuss speculation or rumors related to our business,” UFC vice president of public relations Dave Sholler said.

A Chinese company called The Wanda Group is believed to be the leader with a bid between $3.5-4 billion. The company’s chairman is Wang Jianlin is the richest man in China with nearly $35 billion. Wanda also  bought 20% of the soccer company Atletic Madrid and is a FIFA partner, and are owners of the Hollywood production company Legendary Entertainment.Other companies believed to be bidders are WME/IMG, The Blackstone Group and China Media Capital.
