Demetrious Johnson vs. Wilson Reis set for UFC 201

One of the sports arguable pound -for-pound best will return to the Octagon to face another challenge to his reign as champion.

Demetrious Johnson vs. Wilson Reis has been set for UFC 201 in July and will serve as the co-main event of the night.

Johnson (24-2-1, 12-1-1 in UFC) is coming off a destructive victory over Henry Cejudo at UFC 197. It was Johnson’s eighth title defense which now places him only two more away from tying Anderson Silva’s Middleweight record of 10. Johnson, fresh off of signing a new 8-fight deal with the UFC, has finished five of his last seven fights by knockout or submission. He is currently ranked #2 in the UFC’s pound for pound rankings.

In Johnson’s ninth title defense, he will face Wilson Reis (20-6, 4-2 in UFC). Reis is coming off a dominant unanimous decision victory over Dustin Ortiz. He has gone 3-1 since dropping down to Flyweight having also finished Scott Jorgenson and defeating Joby Sanchez. Wilson holds nine submission victories out of his 20 total victories.

UFC 201 takes place at the Philips Arena in Atlanta, Georgia on July 30th, and will be headlined by a Welterweight championship fight between Robbie Lawler and Tyron Woodley.
