Paige VanZant vs. Bec Rawlings added to UFC on Fox 21

Two of the Strawweight divisions top stars will do battle in the UFC’s next trip to Vancouver, B.C , Canada.

After finishing as a runner-up on ABC’s Dancing With the Stars, Paige VanZant is ready to make her UFC return. In an interview with ESPN’s SportsCenter, VanZant confirmed that she’s set to fight “Rowdy” Bec Rawlings on the feature card.

VanZant (6-2, 3-1 in UFC) most recently fell by submission to Rose Namajunas last December in the main event of UFC Fight Night 80. Following that loss, VanZant competed as one of the celebrities on season 22 of Dancing with the Stars. She partnered with professional dancer Mark Ballas. The couple reached the finals of the show and finished in second place behind model Nyle DiMarco and his partner Peta Murgatroyd. VanZant holds victories over Kailin Curran, Alex Chambers and Felice Herrig and holds a 50% finishing rate with two submissions and one knockout.

Rawlings (7-4, 2-1 in UFC) is currently riding a two-fight winning streak against Lisa Ellis and Seo Hee Ham after losing in her UFC debut against Heather Jo Clark. Rawlings competed on the 20th season of the Ultimate Fighter and fell to Tecia Torres in the opening round of the competition. She is also an Invicta FC veteran and competed against Carla Esparza for the Invicta FC Strawweight championship in her Invicta debut. Of her seven victories Bec has finished 4 by submission and one by knockout.

UFC on Fox 21 takes place at the Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada on August 27th. No main event has been set for this event though the card is already set to feature Anthony Pettis vs. Charles Oliveira.
