It has been confirmed that Canadian MMA fighter Ryan Jimmo has died at the age of 34 due to a hit-and-run incident that happened in Edmonton, Alberta. According to a police report, the incident occurred in the early morning in the parking lot Edmonton’s H2O Lounge, where Jimmo was reportedly walking away from an altercation with two Caucasian men in a dark pickup truck. The men then accelerated the vehicle and fatally struck Jimmo before fleeing the scene. The police are still searching for the suspects.
Jimmo, who earned a black belt in Karate under his father, was known for his devastating punching power. He would rise up the ranks to win the light-heavyweight title of the Canadian promotion; Maximum Fighting Champion, where he defended the title twice. He made a big impact in his UFC debut in 2012, by knocking out Anthony Perosh in just six seconds. However, the Canadian slugger was released by the UFC in 2015 with a record of 3-4, and a MMA record of 19-5.
