UFC 202 is getting pretty legit.
Condit had stated, following his epic five -round championship war with Robbie Lawler, that it would take something special to bring him back into the fray. It turns out top Welterweight contender Demian Maia is that special someone and both men are now set to collide at UFC 202.
Carlos Condit (30-9, 7-5 in UFC) lost a spectacular yet controversial split decision to Robbie Lawler at the beginning of the year. Following that bout Condit hinted at retirement, but has seemingly found an extra drive that will push him back into the Octagon. Of Condit’s 7 wins in the UFC 5 have come by knockout.
Demian Maia (23-6, 17-6 in UFC) is currently on the best run of his career, especially at Welterweight as he is riding a five-fight winning streak. His streak includes wins over Ryan LaFlare, Gunnar Nelson and submission victories over top ten contenders Matt Brown and Neil Magny.
UFC 202 will be headlined by a Welterweight rematch between UFC Featherweight champion Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz.
