Sherdog: Dana White Says Cormier Is Still Fighting At UFC 200

UFC President Dana White made an announcement that UFC Light Heavyweight Champ Daniel Cormier is still fighting at UFC 200. White made the announcement  on “The Herd,” after the devastating news that former champ and current Interim Champ Jon Jones was pulled for an alleged doping violaton.  “There’s tons of guys that are interested. So we’ll get a fight done. Cormier will fight this weekend,” said white.

No news yet of who the next opponent will be, but he did rule out Middleweight Champ Michael Bisping. “First of all, Michael Bing just won the 185 pound title. Let me tell you what Bisping does in his offseason,” White said. “When Bisping’s not training, he goes on a bender. He’s in no condition to fight Cormier.” Bisping has been actively campaigning for the fight on Twitter.

2 months, 2 weeks, 2 days…… Hmmm middle vs light heavy???? I stand by my words. I’d do it!

Gegard Mousasi is also campaigning to fight Cormier, who is scheduled to fight Thiago Santos on the preliminary card. Former contender Alexander Gustafsson has also announced interest as a replacement for Jones. Gustafsson lost to Cormier to by close split decision in a title fight in October. But as of now, the heavyweight match between Brock Lesnar and Mark Hunt is still being billed as the new main event this weekend.
