Hidalgo, Texas is in store for one wild Lightweight main event come September.
Dusin Poirier will meet Ultimate Fighter runner up Michael Johnson in what is expected to be the nights main event.
Poirier (20-4, 12-3 in UFC) is currently ranked at No. 8 in the UFC’s Lightweight rankings after amassing a four-fight winning streak in the division after a long stint at Featherweight. Poirier lastly defeated Bobby Green at UFC 199 by knockout. He has also finished Carlos Diego Ferreira and Yancy Medeiros. His lone decision win in the division comes against Joe Duffy. Of Poirier’s 12 wins in the UFC he has 9 finishes giving him a finishing rate of 75%.
Michael Johnson (16-10, 8-6 in the UFC) will be looking to rebound from a tough two-fight losing streak to Beneil Dariush and Nate Diaz. His last win came against Edson Barboza in early 2015 and has gone 4-4 in his last eight fights. Johnson also holds wins over Joe Lauzon, Gleison Tibau, and Tony Ferguson.
UFC Fight Night 94 takes place on September 17th at the State Farm Arena in Hidalgo, Texas. Other bouts have been added to this card are:
