Middleweight champ Michael Bisping out until May

It looks like we will have to wait a bit longer to see Michael Bisping back in the octagon. While he has been busy with things like his movie role in the new XXX movie and the holidays. It turns out The Count will actually need minor knee surgery.

“I actually found out just recently I’ve got to have a knee surgery,” Bisping told the Fight Network in Canada. “Nothing major, just a clean up. I’ve got a slightly torn meniscus, a couple other things going on in there so I’ve got to get that knee surgery taken care of. We scheduled that and I should be having that in the next couple of weeks.

He went on to say that he’s looking at a return in May. We will likely see him take on Yoel Romero in his return. We last saw Micheal Bisping defend his middleweight title against Dan Henderson back in October, on the UFC 204 card.

Michael is on a 5 fight winning streak. Many believe he scored the biggest upset of 2016, when he knocked out Luke Rockhold and took the middleweight championship. Bisping is on quite a roll, he will have his hands full when he takes on Yoel Romero. Yoel knocked out former middleweight champion Chris Wiedman and has been running through the division.
